    Q for the Cure

Q’n For the Cure – What Can I Do?

Members of The Rocky Mountain BBQ Association, in conjunction with the Romito Foundation, nearby teams, businesses, and non-profit organizations, are currently planning The First Annual Q’n For the Cure to benefit the Romito Foundation, an organization directly supporting research and development of a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).  This fund raising event will be held May 1st and 2nd at the Daveco Liquor store facility - named Guinness Book of World Records record-holder for the Largest Liquor Store – located at 16434 North Washington St., Thornton Colorado 80023 (just off of I-25 and Hwy 7 in Thornton, CO, north of Denver), with a goal to raise $250,000 for this unique foundation.

This is a call going out to our BBQ family to step up and help us have a successful First Annual Q’n For the Cure.  The question really isn’t “what can I do,” as much as it is “what can’t I do?”

  • Second Year for BBQ Contest Info

Here we are in the second year for this web page.  Were trying something that had not been attempted before and to set up a web page to promote barbecue contests.  The first year we tested the concept and it worked great.  We had  24 contests post articles to this site to promote their contest.  Some of the articles were read by more than 500 people.  That's a lot of free publicity for the contest.  This year were shooting for 100 contests promoted on this web page.   So we need the help of a lot of contest organizers to post articles to this site.

So here is how this will all work and this may change as time goes on.  I have set up access, that will be granted to some contests, associations and contest organizers. In some cases they will be able to publish articles or notices about up-coming events directly to the web page.  In other cases these people will be able to send to me late breaking information that I will distribute for them.  In other cases information will come to this site by information posted to the BBQ Forum.

This information will be accessible from this web page and through the newsletter.  There will be a newsletter that will be sent to all subscribers that will contain the latest contest information that can be assembled.  So be sure to sign up for the newsletter on the right side of the web page.  The newsletter will be free to the subscribers and access to post contest information to this site will be free to contests and event promoters.

    * So please sign up for the newsletter.  You have my promise that you will receive only the newsletter and no "Spam."
    * If your an association, contest promoter or event organizer, be sure to apply for access to this site, so you can inform the public about you events.  It won't cost you anything to do this
