I have three cast iron pans that I tried to season. Put a light coat of cooking oil on them, placed in my Weber grill upside down at about 350 or so until the coals went out. Opened the lid and the bottoms showed rust on them. What happened. When I did my dutch oven, it came out a nice black color.

Ideas?
