At the KCSBS banquet in Nashville early this year we were told that there would be live scoring for the Team of the Year. It took them longer than they wanted to bring it online, but this summer they delivered. It sure has been interesting watching teams placements go up and down as the season progressed.

The 2009 BBQ season is winding down, with only 4 contests left on 3 weekends, the TOY battle heating up. The top 6 teams are separated by 99 points. This coming weekend the top 3 teams will be competing against each other at the 3rd Annual Sun City Festival: BBQ Throwdown N Balloon Fest in Buckeye, AZ. Can Rod Gray with Pellet Envy hang on to his 18 point lead? Will Steve, Mike and Charlie with I Smell Smoke !! take the lead back to New England? Will Darrin AKA “The Clone” with Iowa Smokey D’s make up more than 39 points and blow past both of them? Which ones will be making the return trip to Arizona for the December 4 finale in Tempe? Hang on folks, this is going to be interesting.
